Palmolive Ultra Dishwashing Liquid Dish Soap, Pure + Clear Fragrance Free

I keep a bottle of this by the sink because it is the kind of dish soap that does not get in the way of the job. It is for people who want clean plates, clean pans, and clean hands without a strong scent hanging around the kitchen afterward. If you wash a few dishes as you go, or you do a full sink at night and do not want the whole room smelling like perfume, this makes sense right away.
What I like most is how plain it is. That sounds like a boring compliment, but with dish soap boring is usually what you want. It cuts grease well enough for everyday cooking messes, rinses off without leaving that slippery film some soaps leave behind, and does not leave a smell on cups and forks after they dry. I reach for it when I want something simple that handles the usual stuff and keeps moving. It works on the kind of mess real kitchens make, not just the easy stuff. Sauce on a spoon, oil on a pan, coffee cups, glassware, breakfast plates. It does the work and gets out of the way.
I also like that it feels easy on the hands. I am not saying it turns dishwashing into something pleasant, because it does not, but it does not leave my skin feeling stripped and tight the way some stronger soaps do. That matters more than people admit. When you are already standing at the sink after dinner, the last thing you want is a soap that makes your hands feel worse than the dishes look.
The clear, fragrance free part is the real reason I would point certain people toward it. If you are sensitive to scents, if you do not want your dish soap competing with food smells, or if you just prefer a cleaner, quieter routine at the sink, this is a good fit. It is also a good choice for a small kitchen where every smell seems to hang around. Some soaps try too hard. This one just stays neutral.
The main thing I would change is the bottle design. The soap itself is fine, but the cap and squeeze top are just average. Sometimes you get a little more than you meant to, and if the bottle is sitting a bit wet by the sink it can feel slippery to handle. Not a big deal, just one of those little convenience things that would be nicer if it were thought through a little better. I end up setting it on a small tray so it does not skate around the counter.
In my own kitchen, this is the bottle that stays within reach because I know exactly what it will do. It is not flashy, and it does not need to be. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a basic dish soap that cleans well, keeps the sink routine simple, and does not leave behind a strong smell or a lot of fuss. If you want a straightforward soap that feels like a normal part of the kitchen instead of a scented product trying to prove something, this is the one I would keep buying.
